5-steps to ramp up your email marketing
I’m a big believer in cold calling - however, it’s only one tool. The whole Five Wide moniker is derived from the idea of attacking the defense with the most explosive plays in your playbook.
So, with that in mind, let’s examine one of the more aggressive ways out there.
1. Buy multiple variations of your primary domain.
If your domain is www.wearethebest.com then go purchase, trywearethebest.com, we-are-the-best.com, usewearethebest.com (Just have all of the domains forward to your main domain.)
2. Purchase a list of 250-500 names/emails (also include the emails you have in your CRM that have never responded)
I’m currently using ListKit for bulk lists and Apollo to scrape individual emails (it syncs with my LinkedIn)
3. Warm up the email addresses for your new domains.
There are multiple companies that do this. I’m using Instantly at the moment.
4. Create personalized first lines for your entire list.
This can take time. Some places will give you an AI personalized first line, and they are okay. However, if you want to be tuned in, then you should train a VA or do it yourself.
5. Setup a three-part cold email script series.
After three non-response, move on. If they haven’t pinged you back by then, they aren’t going to. This is assuming your copy is good.
If this doesn't yield any fruit, then one, or more of the following, happened:
1. You didn't warm your emails properly - your emails are going to SPAM
2. The title/first line/script combo wasn't very good - You have to get them to open, then have them believe this isn’t a mass-marketed email script, and finally respond.
3. Wrong list - This happens, but usually the first two are the main problems with email marketing campaigns. Finally, measure all of your stats and have multiples email titles and scripts. (Multiple equal 2-4).
After you have emailed your list three times, then see what combinations performed the best. Use that for your next batch of 500 and several new combos. Rinse and repeat.
